One thing that annoys me is throwing things away before getting their full potential out of them. To me, it’s like throwing money in the garbage. One thing I am always throwing out is pantyhose. With 3 kids, pets, and being a klutz myself … by the end of the day my pantyhose always has a run or is torn. So I have come up with 10 practical ways to reuse pantyhose (after I wash it).
10 Other Uses for Pantyhose:
1: When potting household plants, line the bottom of the pot with pantyhose. It will stop the soil from leaking threw when you water it.
2: Use the toe of the pantyhose to store flower bulbs. Just place the bulbs in the toes, and hang them high. This will provide them with appropriate airflow without molding. Plus, if they are hanging high up, your dogs wont eat chew the bulbs while they are downstairs … like my dogs would do.
3: If you ever loose something small and important on the floor (like your grandmother earring .. might be speaking form experience on that one) cut the leg off your pantyhose and put it over the nozzle on the vacuum cleaner. The lost object will stick to the pantyhose instead of being sucked into the vacuum.
4: Use it as a strainer for old paint. Stir your paint, then stretch of pantyhose over the old can of paint before pouring it into your pant tray.
5: Fill a leg with lavender and use to scent your closet
6: Scrunch it up and use it as a soft polishing cloth
7: Use it as a bath infusion sachet. Cut foot off of the pantyhose. Fill it with whatever you want to infuse your bath with (I use it for oatmeal bathes). Place it under the water while it runs in your bath. Or swish it around in a bath that is already ran.
8: Protect growing melons in the garden. You just need the leg of the pantyhose for this one. Put the growing melons into a pantyhose and tie it at the top. The pantyhose will expand as the melon grows, while keeping the critters out of you melon. It also will allow all the air and sunshine to get to you melon.
9: Use the old pantyhose as paint brush covers. After cleaning paint brushes, wrap them in pantyhose to keep them clean and soft
10: Stretch a piece of pantyhose over your brush, and when you see hair start to build up, you can easily remove it! Just replace it with another piece of hose.
