Remove from heat. Stir in heavy cream. Lastly, blend with an immersion blender until smooth.

Tips To Make The Perfect Homemade Tomato Soup:

  1. If you prefer a less creamy tomato soup, switch the cream for an extra cup of chicken broth.
  2. Use canned tomatoes with green peppers and onion for added flavour.
  3. Do not allow the onion to brown. Browned onions do not blend smooth very well.
  4. To freeze this soup for up to 6 months; pour into Ziploc bags and freeze laying flat.

You’ve made my mouth water! I love making my own soups and I really appreciate that your recipe is so simple, making it easy and cheap to make! Too many recipes these days have too many ingredients in my opinion when they don’t necessarily need them.

Omg I love tomato soup, with basil added. It’s so delicious! It’s probably the one and only soup I order all the time in restaurants. Homemade ones are better though

My grandma used to make tomato soup allllll the time and nothing compares. and even though nothing will be quite the same, this sounds and looks pretty close. i definitely have this bookmarked and will give it a try 🙂 thank you
