A Family Favourite Fruit Dip
Fall is officially here. It’s a time for warm baked goods, pumpkin flavoured everything, and apples upon apples. Here in Ontario, it’s apple season. Which means our grocery stores and markets are bursting with fresh Ontario apples right now. Which makes me think of one of my families favourite treats because it pairs so amazingly with apples. My mother-in-law’s fruit dip.
It pairs well with any fruit, really. But the hints of cinnamon in this dip makes it pair especially well with apples. My favourite apple to pair with this dip is Granny Smith. It’s tartness compliments this creamy sweet fruit dip perfectly.
This easy dip also has a Christmas tradition attached to it for our family. Every Christmas morning, my mother-in-law prepares the huge spread of food. And every year she makes sure this dip is out. It’s something my husband looks forward to the most every Christmas day. Probably, even more than opening presents.
This cream cheese fruit dip doesn’t ever last very long though. Luckily, it’s only 5 simple ingredients that you mix together in a bowl and serve. This easy fruit dip literally only takes 5 minutes to put together. Delicious, simple ingredients, you can make it and serve it in one bowl … It really is the best ever fruit dip!
Like mentioned above, this is a cream cheese based fruit dip. That’s what gives this dip its creaminess. The brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon add depth and warmth to the flavour profile, making it perfect for these colder months. Adding in that bit of milk and using a mixer to mix the dip gives this dip its light and airy texture. If you want to give your fruit dip a bit of crunch, try topping it with crushed peanuts.

Tips To Make The Best Ever Fruit Dip:
- Soft cream cheese works best for this dip. But if you don’t have any softened cream cheese, cut the cream cheese into cubs to make it easier to mix.
- If you’re aiming for a light and airy dip, using a mixer is a must.
- Make this dip up to 3 days ahead of time. Store the dip covered in the fridge.
